A candid note from Siggy Lie on work, motherhood, creativity and trying to make room for the life she wants to build.
after a full week of pouring love (while trying not to lose myself) in the kindergarten.
Now I have today and tomorrow to fully focus on my work
my kids
my life.
Im not creating chairs and lamps for fun. Im doing it because I have wanted this for as long as I can remember. But life demanded too much of me – until i hit 42 and experienced a new spring. Now I want to build a good life by doing what Im good at. And it IS fun when I have the energy. My creativity and my body are soulmates, they are the best team.
Creative flow is a heavenly state of mind, soothes my nervous system. But fear and tears are inevitable. A big part of my creative process, my growth. GROWINGPAINS. I know in my heart and soul and blood and bones that if I keep on grinding it will pay off. One day I will reap the fruit of my labour.
In all humility, Im asking my audience to spread the word. Please share and tell people about my work and what I can do – I mean I can bend steel tubes into clothing racks and fitting rooms, lamps and furniture, and Im the maker of the S-CHAIR. I also have some pretty good drawings that will be available as limited edition prints soon.
I am forever thankful for every warm word that has been said about my work, and for every single sale. One day, when I have a little money to spend, I will buy your art, clothing, furniture, and support your business too. But for now Im working hard to pay my bills, feed my kids and make sure that day will come ♡

I create furniture, functional sculptures, and drawings, driven by an irresistible urge to transform life's growing pains into beauty. I strongly believe in pushing myself out of my comfort zone — both personally and materially — in order to become the artist I want to be.
